July 1 is the commemoration of the slavery past known as keti koti. For that reason, KIP Republic is once again initiating Free Heri Heri For All; an initiative whereby 11,000 heri heri meals are distributed free of charge at 20 locations in Amsterdam and other national cities. Heri heri symbolizes the food consumed by enslaved people on the plantations. KIP Republic has brought together a team of top chefs to cook the meals.
