On September 5, 2021, the memorial in memory of Nelson Mandela will be unveiled by Mayor Femke Halsema in the Nelson Mandela Park in Southeast. The monument is a mix of seven faces of residents from Zuidoost. It symbolizes the message that everyone is equal and the importance of community spirit. In the period prior to this moment, Cultureel Zuidoost, the collective of cultural institutions in Southeast: CBK Zuidoost, OSCAM, Foundation, Bijlmerpark Theater, OBA, Imagine IC, Heesterveld and New Metropolis Southeast, pay a tribute to the South African freedom fighter and former president.

OSCAM x Echobox
OSCAM launches its very first online radio program called Look Around in collaboration with Echobox. We invite an inspiring guest every month with whom we will talk about the museum landscape, art and creativity. The presentation is in the hands of our Young OSCAM moderator Shaquille Shaniqua Joy.
OSCAM x L.O.B.I. ARCADE
Brian Elstak presents L.O.B.I. ARCADE. As the title suggests, the exhibition is an arcade hall with 10 unique game consoles, each with its own theme. The exhibition will also feature work by artists Dewy Elsinga (Butterfingaz), Hedy Tjin and creative collective Lowrey Foley McClane.
OSCAM x Hollandse Meesters Her-Zien
In this exhibition in collaboration with Jörgen Tjon A Fong of Urban Myth, contemporary Dutch celebrities lend their face to historical Dutch people of color from the 17th and 18th centuries. The exhibition creates a more realistic picture of the colorful country that the Netherlands already was at the time.
